Since its creation in 2018, the French Agency for the Development of AlUla (Afalula) has been working to “implement a new model of economic and tourism development” in this arid region of northwestern Saudi Arabia, according to its president Gérard Mestrallet. The agency carries out many projects, in close collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). The work of its Agriculture unit is featured in a recently published video.

Among all these projects, Apexagri is pleased to support two units in their work: Perfume-Botany, directed by Elisabeth Dodinet, and Agriculture, directed by Stéphane Forman. The work of Afalula Agriculture Unit is highlighted in a ten-minute video in which the teams are immersed.

We are proud to have supported Afalula since 2019 in the development and valorization of local agri-food chains.
Our work at their side leads us very regularly in the field, as close as possible to the farmers and local actors of the agricultural world, to :
- Lead evaluation and feasibility missions
- Continuously enrich the knowledge of the different local productions, the related agricultural practices, their valorization…
- Establish training programs for local farmers
- Continuously monitor the progress of projects in the plant (citrus, Moringa peregrina…) and animal (small ruminant breeding) chains
